The initiatives are jointly managed by the National Enterprise Development Initiative (NEDI) of the Youth Ministry and Social Development Fund (SDF), under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.

After handing over the cheques to the 8 young people, whose ages range from 26 to 35, President Barrow counselled the beneficiaries to utilize the loan to expand their businesses and repay on time to enable the funds to revolve as designed to reach more youths.
The President called on the youths to venture into the informal and productive sector while emphasising that government prioritizes issues of youth and he will continue to roll out projects that aim to empower Gambian youths.
