MoYS tours provincial Gambia to handover newly constructed football fields

The Ministry will this week embark on a tour to the southern part of the country to, among other activities, hand over the football fields (mini stadia) that were being constructed in the past two years. The facilities in the rural areas, whose first phase has been completed by the contractors is developed as part of the Ministry's goal of improving the sports infrastructure in the provincial part of The Gambia, as government strife to decentralize development.

The communities of Kafuta, Bwiam in the West Coast Region, Julafarr Kiang West in the Lower River Region, Janjanbureh in the Central River Region, and Diabugu, Sandu in the Upper River Region are the beneficiary of the football fields / mini stadia.

This strategic investment is poised to foster talent and promote community sports engagement in these regions.

We will also be conducting the passing out ceremonies of the NYSS 2nd batch of the Apprenticeship Training Program (ATP), who completed their 2 years of craftsmanship training.

As part of the itinerary of the Ministry, two youth business formalization centers will be officially opened to start supporting young entrepreneurs.
