65% AFCON Budget goes to National team

Out of the total budget of AFCON 65% represents Camping and match Bonuses for the National football Team.

Mrs. Juldeh Ceesay, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs who is also the Chairperson of the Finance sub-committee of the AFCON 2023 disclosed that 65% AFCON budget will go to the National team including bonuses and allowance whilst 35% of the budget goes to Media & Publicity and logistics activities.

She made the disclosure during the 7th National Coordinating Committee (NCC) meeting while presenting her report to the committee members at the road to AFCON 2023 meeting held on Friday 29th December, 2023 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The meeting was chaired by the Hon.Minister Mr. Bakary Y. Badjie and co-chaired by Mr.Kabba Bajo the President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF).

The meeting received updates from Sub-committees including logistics , media and Publicity amongst others.

The Committee was also briefed on the Trust Bank social responsibility contribution toward the AFCON 2023 to the tune of Two million five hundred thousand Dalasis.
