The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie yesterday officially launched the Francis and Dionne Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative at the ongoing National Youth Conference and Festival (NaYCoNF)
This transformative program, in collaboration with Arizona State University, provides free, self-paced online courses in diverse fields, accessible to Gambians of all ages and backgrounds.
With content available in 40 languages, the initiative seeks to empower 100 million learners worldwide, with a specific target to benefit at least 100,000 Gambians. Minister Badjie hailed this development as a major milestone in The Gambia’s pursuit of education and skills development, urging Gambians to leverage the opportunity to enhance their leadership, entrepreneurship, and civil rights knowledge.
“This initiative breaks barriers by offering free access to quality education and skills training,” Minister Badjie stated, expressing gratitude to Arizona State University and the US Embassy for their support.
The partnership underscores the Ministry’s commitment to youth empowerment, innovation, and bridging skill gaps to position Gambians for success on a global stage.
