As preparations reach the final stage for the 8th AIPS Africa Congress – Banjul 2026, the Ministry of Youth & Sports has reaffirmed its commitment to the successful hosting of the continental gathering by presenting D1.5 million as budget contribution to the Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia
The Congress, scheduled to take place from 6โ9 February 2026 at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center, is expected to brings together Ministers of Sports, sports journalists, media professionals, and key stakeholders from Africa and beyond, positioning The Gambia as a hub for continental sports media dialogue and collaboration.
The Ministryโs support underscores governmentโs strong backing for sports development, media excellence, and the successful delivery of this historic event.
